At the neck, chest, and rear, a muskox's hair can be up to 3 feet long.

Muskox got their name from the strong odor given off by males. This musky odor is used to attract females during mating season.

Muskoxen are more closely related to sheep and goats than to oxen.
Both male and female muskoxen have long curved horns.
