Stingrays are closely related to sharks.
Most Stingrays are widespread and currently not threatened.
Stingrays are common in tropical and subtropical coastal waters.
Stingrays usually feed on molluscs, crustaceans, and small fish.
The Stingrays flat body allows it conceal itself on the ocean bottom.
Stingrays do not aggressively attack humans.
If you will be wading or swimming in water where there might be Stingrays you can throw in some stones and the splash will usually scare them away.
